Why not resist?
The concept of non resistance has been around for a long time. Since the advent of civilized thought, I think. Yet much has been done, great advances have been made by “”making it right, being aggressive and proactive, getting there before your rival does…
The whole modern world appears to be a result of “showing them what you’ve got”, with its inferred load of resistance, force, and disagreement, stepping on each other to get to the top.
When we look at cosmic law – from which the current Law of Attraction and its underlying principles have been taken – there is one of those principles that stands out. It is the principle of Non Resistance. As we know, what we focus on we get more of. What we resist, persists, becomes more solid, grow bigger, etc. When these principles are applied to an unwanted or negative situation or event it is obvious that paying more attention to the situation in hand, “pushing against it”, becoming obsessed with thinking about it, trying to force it away, will result not only in a situation that is even more “real” than it was when it started out (“real” here meaning in your face, taking up enormous space in your life) but it also creates ongoing similar situations that are then faced with, until you lose your footing and collapse in a heap under the weight of your self created catastrophe. You can of course push your way through it as nothing lasts forever, but the result would be something that is built of the vibration of force, unpleasantness, and resistance that preceded it. This is not a happy situation. Nor can it ever be. And this makes for countless human beings all doing it, all vibrating effort, and of course this leads to a world of which the foundation and structure is nothing but effort.
Is there an easier way to do this? Yes, of course there is, though we apparently are unable to see that anything simple can do the trick.
The easier way is the way of non resistance. And it works in the same way as it’s opposite. What we focus on, we get more of. What we ignore, cannot exist vibrationally since we are not creating it by paying attention to it (we do create our own reality!)
And so when we are confronted by something that feels bad, needs to be sorted out, looks like the beginning of a small war – and could become a large war – we have a choice. We can either resist it, try and sort it out, try to think obsessively about how to handle it, become really concerned and anxious, try to use force etc… or we can think straight for a minute by stepping around our emotional reaction, and then KNOW that resistance will bring us more of the same. And because it’s simple does not mean it won’t work. It will.
And it does. And it takes us quickly (or much quicker) to a solution of our problem, to an outcome, when we allow ourselves to step into the silence in which all answers are to be found.
